    xt hg93 9 speed chain at £7.25

Re: Picked up two this afternoon. Appears to be the genuine item, and boxed - not just in a bag. Guess Halfords have miss priced this!

    xt hg93 9 speed chain at £7.25

I know we moan about Halfords, but the chain is £7.25, possibly £6.55 if you click and collect online. Reckon that is about as good as you will get.

solved - Marzocchi Bomber Z2 damper + 1/31 added tooltip

Re: dismantling Marzocchi Bomber Z2 damper unit - help needed Am rebuilding some 2001 atoms at the moment. On mine I can simply hold the large nut in one hand, and turn the threaded rod anticlockwise until it passes completely out through the large nut. It is quite fine threaded so at first...

    BB-ES70 68mm shell 113mm axle

Re: Gave up looking for ES70 years ago. Have been using ES51, and as far as I am aware the only difference is the threaded cup on the one side. The ES70 came with an alloy cup, whereas the ES51 is a plastic cup. If you have an alloy cup from an old ES70 then you are sorted. I have finally...

Hope Mini Set inc loads of spares

Re: If you were splitting I have an eye on a no3 outer half caliper and master cylinder. But looking at the spare master cylinder, am I right in thinking the lever flange has snapped off? Difficult to be sure from the photo.

I pull mine with my left hand

Going to La Gomera, a volcano just off tenerife (has a rain forest). Bike shop is not keen to reverse the hydraulic brakes. It's not a big place and probably doesn't get much business from us brits. However, in contrast, the guys in nearby Madeira and Tenerife have been great, and have UK/Aussie...

I pull mine with my left hand

Rear brake that is. Going on holiday abroad where brakes set up is reversed. Anyone experienced how quickly you adjust. Joining mtb tour which will include some steep singletrack, so worried about going over the handlebars when i instinctively apply front brake rather than rear.

Marzocchi atom or atom race 80 lowers 2001/2

Dropouts broken on my pair. The stanchions etc are in great condition so i am hoping to get hold of some lowers. Have tried z3 air and atom sport lowers but they do not fit. Anyone know of any other lowers that would fit?

    Chainsuck problem

Re: Could the chain be jamming a bit against the adjacent bigger chainring? Just a few thoughts if so: 1) Thin enough chain? 2) Chain ring spacing wide enough? ie no shims missing between the chainrings. 3) Pround or sticky chain pin?

    That's torn it! Jackets

One of my local trails is very brambly - almost impossible to get through unscathed. Always looks like we have had a self harming session when we emerge from the trail!! Don't mind the bloodletting, but I am getting cheesed off at the ease with which the thorns rip my waterproof 'shell' jacket...

suspicious relisting of marzocchi atom 2001 forks

When I saw them re-listed, I asked the seller "had this fork been previously listed and if so, why?" The response was, "Yes it has, they sold for £40 and person didn't want them. Then the last buyer didn't read the postage note in the description." . The winner of the original listing...

suspicious relisting of marzocchi atom 2001 forks

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MTB-Marzocchi ... 4d390542ee Have been watching these forks over the past three weeks. Look to be in very poor condition but i was interested in them for spares. Appeared to sell for rather a lot, but were immediately relisted. Sold for a second time, again for rather...

Dad can we build a guitar?

Re: Chose to run in some fret markers from the side rather than the traditional location in the middle of the fingerboard. Dry set the frets, rather than glue. Did have some loose frets that required some glue. Binding was difficult to bend around the tightest corner. Our bending iron was a...

Dad can we build a guitar?

Everything was from ground up. No manuals or googling. Kept us on ours toes and was good for discussing ideas on how to progress. Down side was that we probably 'reinvented the wheel many times over'. However it was an enjoyable experience to do so. Our only compromise on the project was to get...

Dad can we build a guitar?

One frustrating aspect of the build, was the imperial dimensions still used for a lot of the components. It is almost impossible to get imperial 'brad and point' drill bits in this country. We spent about £10 on one bit alone (for the machine heads). For the bridge posts we filed down a metric...

Dad can we build a guitar?

Re: Re: Wilkinson double with a nickel cover. It is mid price range with reasonable reviews. Our total build cost was about £250. In hindsight, had we known that it was going come out as well as it did, we would have budgeted in higher end components.
