    Size matters, doesnt it?

I would guess, the bikes in the back hanging up side down on some hooks, while the one up front is just hanging up front... if your turn the pic to the left you will see it as well. But on the other hand :)

    Size matters, doesnt it?

The secret is the BB height in relation to saddle height, the Gazelle has a way lower BB compared to the Raleigh. Possible the 4cm (+-). Unfortunately, I have no older frame to compare this, but in my logic I could well get away with an older frame with a relatively low BB and a 60cm seattube -...

    Size matters, doesnt it?

Well, I am 6ft (183) - and yes, the TT gets in the way when jumping off the bike - I try to avoid it, though ;) Still I assume there are some riders the same height as me with some experience in frame sizes they rode both from the earlier days (30s-60s) and the more modern (70s-80s)... Cheers

    Size matters, doesnt it?

Hi! When I began skipping my classic mtb's for even older road bikes, putting as wide as possible tires into them to still ride them off road, I got a lot of comments for my seemingly way to large frames. First one was an 1970s Gazelle "Sprinter" with a wooping 64cm (ct) seattube and a rather...

    Sorted 30s-50s forks

Hi, for my Italian made "Ancora" frame from the early 1930s I need some forks from this time. Something nice, with a double plated crown or a set of Raleigh RRAs would be cool... Steerer length 16cm. Thank you!

1982 Raleigh Record Ace - A Fixed Gear Dirt Tourer

Well, after gettin a 650b wheelset and a fixed hub, which I could easily convert to 126mm I build a new rear wheel and failed - actually not me but the rim... A massive radial turnout couldn't be trued and given the tight clearance in the rear, I decided to go with my 700c wheels. I took the...

Sorted 1930s-1960s Rough Stuff Touring frameset

Hi! After my last long tour with my '82 Raleigh I am convinced that I want an older (preferable 1930s-1960s) dedicated (rough stuff) touring frame just for the sake of riding something older than me... • Reynolds 531 • clearance for 32mm (more is welcome) • pump peg would be splendid • some...

Any Idea? Ancora Milano frame from the 20s/30s

Just received a test BB for the Ancora frame. It defo works while the shell could use a re-threading. I'll have this done at a vintage Italian race bike shop (cicli berlinetta) close by. A matching fork might have appeared as well, neither an original Ancora nor from the period in question, but...

Any Idea? Ancora Milano frame from the 20s/30s

Probably. I just learned that I meassured the BB the wrong way. Not inside the shell (35mm) but on the outside around: 36mm. Makes more sense of course... An ITA BB it will be.

Any Idea? Ancora Milano frame from the 20s/30s

Yes, I aggree. Need to find some cups for testing over here - but its funny, having an Italian frame with French/Swiss threading. I am still not certain how to build it, also having a rather standard headset and hence a lot of forks to choose from makes it a bit easier...

Any Idea? Ancora Milano frame from the 20s/30s

Since I had to maintain my wife's bike anyway, I used the opportunity to see if I can get rid of the headset cups. Et voilà: I didn't expect to find that the cups have a diameter of 30.2mm, which of course makes it a lot easier to find a headset and fork... A little mock up of the frame...

Any Idea? Ancora Milano frame from the 20s/30s

Well, the Ancora arrived few days ago and does make a good first impression. What I dont know is what I should make of the odd sized bb shell and headset. BB has 68.5/35mm threaded HS has (between the cups) 26.8mm Any idea what I shoul looking for to test-fit? I guess gettin' the HS cups out...

Any Idea? Ancora Milano frame from the 20s/30s

Good morning, today I received the 1934 catalogue from Jawr (paramanubrio.it) - it still is a but inconclusive but according to the pictures my frame (still not here :( ) appeara to be a "Modello B" as those above - I wonder if they actually build some of the oder modells. However, this is the...

Any Idea? Ancora Milano frame from the 20s/30s

No, unfortuntely not. It would be indeed easier to determine the kind of frame with forks but will see. Wheel size might help as well.
