    AMP bushes

Re: Yeah its for the forks. They are the circlip style ones. Easy enough to get some spun up I guess. Unless someone still stocks them?

    AMP bushes

Hi all, the nylon bushes on my AMP are slogged out. Was going to get some more, but what about getting brass bushes spun up? Or will this be too hard on the links?

    Bigger wheels on my GT?

Possibly... although I wanted the bike to look simple and sparse if you know what I mean? Plus I have some of those cool parallel pull brake levers I want to keep using...

    Bigger wheels on my GT?

I guess they would work upside down so I could use cantis on the back...

    Bigger wheels on my GT?

The u brake bosses are literally at the same height as the sidewalls on the 700c rims. I would think that trying to run a caliper or running an adapter to move the u brakes would mean removing the bosses that are on there. Anyone have any pics of what they have done?

    Bigger wheels on my GT?

Re: I love this bike... I love riding it regularly. If I can't put these wheels on there I'll just stick with the 26" wheels. It's a real bitsa bike but it's been with me through thick and thin and through many different builds.

    Bigger wheels on my GT?

Please ignore how dirty it is, doesn't get cleaned too often...

    Bigger wheels on my GT?

I have a 91 GT Pantera Al, one with the u brake on the back. It's my commuter running slicks on the standard 26" wheels. I was gifted a set of 700c wheels built on mountain bike hubs and quite keen to use them. I want my bike to go faster home lol. I can see I could use a standard road brake on...

How far do you go for retro?

That's true, I totally agree and have done that too. But for people that are building replicas, garage queens, only ridden in the most perfect conditions when the wind is blowing in the right direction etc what say you?

How far do you go for retro?

When building a retro bike, how far do you go to make it all original? Chain? Tubes? Cassette? Cables? Pads? Spokes? Personally these things normally fall by the way side and I go for modern items. Just interested to hear.

1992 Mongoose Amplifier in Fluro yellow - Finished!

Re: Absolutely gorgeous! Only thing that's making my ocd senses tingle is that I like my stem and port to be the same color, but that's personal preference. Well done for heading outside the box!

    Show us yer FSR's

Re: You guys probably won't be to happy with me... The FSR I built for my partner has disc tabs but I built it with M950 v-brakes.

    Which Hope calipers?

Re: Cool thanks for the info. I'll have to measure up the exact size of the 2 "8 inch" rotors I have. The bike is going to be mainly for show as I have other bikes, but want to be able to take this one out every now and then.

    Seen one of these before?

I've not seen that particular wheel, but if my memory serves me correct... Rhino technology did a DH wheel, similar to that but it only had 2 spokes, opposite each other, and about 3 times as thick.

    Which Hope calipers?

Re: Sweet, it was hard enough coming across these in NZ! Originally the ATX had shivers, but they ended up on my cannondale.

    Which Hope calipers?

Re: The Boxxers are IS and the caliper is IS? Is it not just a matter of spacing the caliper over slightly so it sits over the rotor? What's the difference between the #3 and #6? I mean physical differences.

    Which Hope calipers?

I think I have solved the problem. Hope make IS to IS adapters to increase the caliper 20mm each end. They'll do the trick nicely.

That one bike you'll probably never own but would die for

It was a Yeti straight 4 or 6 until I happened upon Marla Strebs old one! Now I want one of the Cannondale Fulcrum DHs, the ones with the 2 bottom brackets.
