For Sale Hurlow, Condor,Grubb,CB for sale

I have larger. 1974 24inch black/red original paint. Chrome crown, unusual for WBH.

    Gillott Spearpoint taper-tube

1949 24inch re-finished by Argos in 'crackle' green/gold, it's original crackle finish was too far gone. Rides very nicely, not that I can put it under any strain but it feels stiff to me .

1973 Condor Superbe Original Paint Value

    A. curved chain-stay bridge with a 1/8 inch hole in it is a better guide, (But not always).

1973 Condor Superbe Original Paint Value

Nice thing and certainly looks like WBH but how does one know? If it had been VE i expect it would have had a semi-sloping crown for starters. I like the interim down-tube decals. Cant say I have noticed the different 'H' thicknesses, most of mine have either been restored or have WBH top-eyes.

1973 Condor Superbe Original Paint Value

I believe WBH stopped building for Condor in the mid-late 60's, the latest I have had was a '66 No1. Tom Board joined Condor in the early 70's I think.

1973 Condor Superbe Original Paint Value

Very nice. Quite large frame, 25 inch? I recently tried to sell a complete Superbe from the early 60's by WBH for £1500 quid and had no interest whatsoever. Actually one 'expert' phoned to say that the gearing would not work but it seemed to get up Box Hill ok. I presume it is by Vic Edwards...

Raleigh Record Ace model 26 frame number help

Without doubt? If you say so, perhaps you would like to explain why you are convinced it is a RRA and not a Moderne?

Twin Tube Claud Butler Built Saxon

Built by WBH? In 1955 he was at Condor and although he was not averse to doing a bit on the side I doubt it would have been for CB. 1955 was a busy year for him at Condor as that was the first year of WBH designed Condors. Some of his Holdsworth frames featured an H to distinguish his builds...

    Condor '63 54cm complete bike

Re: A bit harsh MatBH5. If you like old frames then a Condor built by WBH is about as good as it gets, (I am biased when it comes to Condor and WBH). Sure the frame may need a paint job or at least some transfers but I think that is a very tasty frame. Surely £250-300, find another.

    Condor '63 54cm complete bike

Re: Yes a No2. If 1963 then 99% likely by WBH. I prefer the No2 to the No1 which is probably the most common. I like my bikes with period components and so think the configuration counts against it but others will disagree. Good luck with it.

    Hurlow, Holdsworth or Mal Rees?

Re: Certainly looks like a Superbe, and the age is right. Sadly the only model missing from my collection of major Hurlows, so if it ever goes on sale please let me know.

    R.A. Blackwell cycles, Hackney.

Re: I have one that is uber special and indeed it was bought from Hilary. They were a shop but there is little info to be had about who built the frames they sold under their own name. Gillott has been suggested as a possible source for mine by someone with a similar.

    Lamborghini Titanium road bike

I have a 1978 Speedwell. I didn't know that the ones given away by Lambo had different markings. Mine is not the stiffest bike in the world but as I am no racer I find it very comfortable. Tried to sell it on ebay last year and didn't get one bid.
