    Tektro RBP Brakes Connect Cable

Yes I figured that part out eventually/with help of others. The other thing - the levers have no stop pins, or whatever you call those... that go in the little holes next to the brake bosses. So the way I achieved the desired outcome is - tightened the boss bolts enough and the with a wrench I...

    Tektro RBP Brakes Connect Cable

@joglo you are correct, that is a small allen key nut

    Tektro RBP Brakes Connect Cable

I can't figure out how to properly connect the cable to the levers? There's a nut that spins freely with hole in the middle and that's it. I suppose the cable goes in but it can't be properly secured, if at all.

    Polishing Schwinn s9six Frame

Any idea on how to polish the chips and dings away? I don't know if this is clear coat or anodized aluminum.

Trek Y - Repainted or Original

Note the green under the black paint... But I don't think this bike ever came in green. Another interesting fact is the paint over the head tube badge. Thoughts?

    Fox Alps 4 Cracked Shaft

Yeah, $60 + $10 shipping, kind of steep but I think worth it.

    Fox Alps 4 Cracked Shaft

Any ideas on how to fix it with jb weld? Isn't there a piston inside that slides flush so air doesn't leak? The rubber seal outside also slides tight.

    Fox Alps 4 Cracked Shaft

He doesn't ship to the US unfortunately and honestly it doesn't look like the same item. I recall someone mentioning that the cracked shaft can be "glued" somehow with epoxy but not sure how

    Fox Alps 4 Cracked Shaft

I believe those were prone to cracks on the shaft. This is the second one I've seen like that. And yes there was at some point some after market shafts for sale on ebay but not anymore I guess.

    Fox Alps 4 Cracked Shaft

My Schwinn Homegrown has one and it's not holding air. After careful examination, I found a hairline crack on the shaft. I can't find any spare shafts anywhere... can those be repaired somehow?

    My Caloi

I'm thinking of stripping all non original stickers and that would mean that only "Caloi" would remain.

    My Caloi

I'm yet to ride it as the front suspension is shot and the chain is stiff but I really like it. The tubes seem a big bigger than other bike's though but it's Caloi alright, the squared off stays are cool! It's not the lightest but the owner, who's the original owner said it rode really stiff.

    My Caloi

I love the brakes too! Very unique/retro

    My Caloi

First time I heard of this brand when I was about to buy. I snagged it for $75. Somebody (previous owner) loved it! He upgraded the fork, tires, brakes and XT crank/derailleur. Were these frames welded or bonded? I don't see any weld marks:

    Seized Handlebars Stem/Fork Steerer

Finally got to rebuilding my Schwinn S[9six] viewtopic.php?f=1&t=415629 The handlebar stem is stuck onto the fork steerer. I've completely removed the bolt from it with the wedge inside (pushing against the steerer) and it won't move. Soaking in PB Blaster now... Thoughts on getting it loose?

Proof you can polish a Turd or at least roll it in Glitter!

I enjoyed (re) reading this article... Especially now that I own a Schwinn with a sweet spot rear end frame ;) viewtopic.php?f=1&t=415629

Raleigh MCC-8 Frame for Sale on eBay

https://www.ebay.com/itm/184344872041 I've got one just like that one and remember someone (Mathias?) mentioning here he might be interested. I contacted the seller and he said he hasn't gotten any offers so he might be opened to more down to earth bids.

    1996 Schwinn S[9six]

I had found the German brochure before... Either way I'm surp not much chatter about this bike here. Schwinn was a reputable brand back in the day. I'll take my time and restore it. I actually like the design...
