    Barracuda?

Thanks guys, the frame is still for sale and the guy claims it's a early 90s frame. I guess that's when Barracuda was in it's prime and those bikes/frames now are a collector's item. Not this one though. I honestly thought it was late 90s, less desirable but 2004, yeah, it's a piece of junk...

    Barracuda?

The latest of my quest for learning about older high end bikes. I can't find any information on the Web for this bike: Thoughts?

Re: Pivot bushings removed too. Question - do they need to be lubricated prior installation? I've read mixed cases.

Still no success. I hammer the sh*t out of it and it's not moving. What did you use to hammer on? Spanner socket?

Re: I'm soaking it now into some diesel fluid... will give it a week or two. What did you use to push/hammer the sleeve out? it has to be about 28.5mm Also, the pivot can be put down on a table with a whole or opening wider than the sleeve but smaller than the eyelets and then hammer it from...

I have to get creative here as I already scarred the surface. Mine does look corroded but you never know how it is on the inside

Does it matter which side the sleeve comes out? I gave it a good few blows but it won't move... I used a piece of fork stem

Thias -- are these old pictures or current project? Once I strip everything down, I'm thinking of repainting the frame, but I can't decide whether to keep the original scheme or red.

I was about to ask you if you knew the length/size of the bolt. I appreciate it. It turned out that the size is the same as a skewer. So I stuck one in, screwed it and hammered it till the cup popped out.

I guess the previous owner or whoever tried to take it apart and removed the bolt that goes through. That bolt I don't have so I have to figure out how to replace it and meanwhile to proceed to take the rest apart.

Ah, I didn't realize you're talking about the rear shock - no, i haven't decided at all. I'll post some pics on my progress tomorrow, but I'm sure that mine is missing the bolt.

Thanks Thias, this is helpful! This part is especially helpful -- do you have any picture of what the sleeve looks like? And to your question - I have to see what the dampeners looks like and go from there. Do you have an idea where I can get them if I need them?

How do you remove the pivots? I couldn't find a thread here re that. Another site had instructions but it seems that my setup is different and might require a special tool?
