    1996 Schwinn S[9six]

I forgot to add - I picked it up for scraps. Not kidding! This guy was selling 3 bikes together not knowing anything about any of them. It's sad though... it must've been his father's given the kid was in his late 20s... and the sad part is that who knows what would happen with my bike...

    1996 Schwinn S[9six]

My latest addition. The biggest complains about these bikes were the components - namely the LX drive-train and the cane creek rear shock. This one has a Fox rear shock and Tektro V-brakes I know don't seem original but you gotta love the colour! I couldn't find much info on this bike...

Did the Pantera ever come with Manitou Mars fork? Also, what year do you make it? 1997?

Sadly, I abandoned the project but I'd be curious to see what others say. My guess is ebay is our best bet

1996 Kona Koa vs Lava Dome

The aesthetic bits I like... Stem, bar, fork, headset, brakes/levers and frame with the decals (love the 1996 theme)... however, would I ever pay £590 plus postage. No.

1996 Kona Koa vs Lava Dome

So yeah I ended up with the 1995 Kona Lava Dome. Not too happy with my acquisition but "you can't win them all." I got fooled by my earlier find (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=412498) and very much impressed with so I committed to this one without much hesitation. Also the owner wasn't there only his...

1996 Kona Koa vs Lava Dome

Good catch! I found that too. First thing I noticed was how heavy the wheels are. Was this the brand for the original set?:

1996 Kona Koa vs Lava Dome

I appreciate the long explanation. $425 is bit steep for this bike regardless the pristine condition. Given the same price for Lava Done, which one would you go for? Honestly, I'm intrigued by the fact that one recently sold on eBay in the UK for much higher (see the other thread)

1996 Kona Koa vs Lava Dome

Cinder Cove is also steel. Why is it the more expensive model with higher end components? Wasn't aluminum the big thing back then?

1996 Kona Koa vs Lava Dome

What's the difference? I can't tell if there's any or any major at all... but I'm considering buying this one: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=412621

    What Year is this Kona

It soaked for about 2 days, today I checked and half the liquid or more was gone. I assume evaporated. No success. And I did dip the post only, in ice water. Tried twisting by grabbing the seat, then hammering it... Again no success. Now soaking it again. The last time I had a stuck seatpost I...
