    930 -- frankenbike?

^word Welp, it looks better than it did a couple of hours ago, I guess. May have to make this my gator bike. You know, sort of a swamp buggy concept. Already have one fancy-schmancy build in the queue. One of those is enough. Will admit, this color scheme could be good camoflage. Long...

    930 -- frankenbike?

So that's a spinner fork on there now. My thinking is, close enough. I even wonder if Spinner wasn't supplying forks to Trek in that mid-90's period? I *may* try to polish up the finish, but it's pretty grim in person... Velocals is getting out of the bicycle decal business as of yesterday...

eBay CU2 cranks -- may be fixable

Link Seller says it comes in a box prominently marked "spindle needs tapped." He doesn't know what that means, but notes the pinch bolts are missing, so maybe that's what needs to be tapped. I'd take a chance on it if I had some hope of sourcing a left crank arm, or if I had a drill press...

Either way. The red and green would be translucent top coats, just depends on whether I do a chrome base layer or just polish up the steel. Problem with clear coat is, it may not start out as a ratbike but it'll become one quickly (and we live on the bay, so, very quickly) In my mind, this...

And then there's this. This would not be all that difficult to do with powdercoat. Makes the rest of the build easy. Shinier the better, I figure

    930 -- frankenbike?

The seller put a new fork on there for me -- super nice guy -- but now is concerned because the brakes don't fit I'm looking at that fork and i'm pretty sure I can put brakes on that thing -- don't canti's and V-brakes use the same kinda stud? I mean, a stud's a stud, right? What, did he...

    930 -- frankenbike?

Was looking for a bike to rehab for my son-in-law, and came across this for a good price. I bought it. Just curious what it was I bought, exactly. Appears to have RS Indy fork, which I understand came out in '97. As for the frame, based on color, groupset (STX) and the threaded headset, I...

    Marin 'Team Marin' 1990

Saw an ad on FB the other day. "Bike - $50 - good shape." Oh yeah it's in great shape -- no brakes, cables sproinging everywhere, paint all rubbed off. The famous "ARIN" brand. Wait a minute... Zoom in ... "Team Marin." Of course he didn't answer my messages. It was listed in the Tampa...

Roger that I'm asking about cranks, their ISIS cranksets look pretty cool. Carbon? No way! I know for a fact they have Italian threaded ISIS bottom brackets, they have em up on ebay. Just a question of getting the chainline close, or close enough. I have this idea in my head that FRM cranks...

Guy says it's "late 90's," wonder if it was specced for a suspension fork. When it gets here I'll measure it up and draw some triangles. I'm assuming the design HTA must be ~71 degrees If so, Soma has a beautiful fork that might work. Kinda has that Ritchey look which I agree should...

OK I have one on the way. Gotta find a fork I guess. Ibbz you didn't happen to get the AC length on yours? I'm assuming I should be looking for 395-400? I have an old rockhopper fork that's about 412 or so, guess I could use that except it's so durn ugly The dude is taking offers. It's...
