Have you removed the sawn bit and soaked oil down the gap? If you've got enough left to grip I'd be surprised if it doesn't give.

If you CAREFULLY cut 2 saw cuts 5 -10 mm apart down the tube with a hacksaw blade taking care to stop before you reach the seat tube, you can then peel this away to leave the stuck tube with a section missing. This will allow room for what's left of the post to reduce in diameter, soak it well...

I know what you mean but I reckon its 18, the ovalised tubing at the head makes it tighter. If I could get a fair shipping price i'd have it, e mailed the seller, we'll see.

Hi, thanks.. i think its a 739 i have which is why i'm a little confused at the band on it doesnt 'sit' high enough and so it means it has to go down too low onto the ovalised part of the down tube (if all that makes sense) Are there several versions of it? :?

Thanks, I've fitted a 118 and it's spot on. Still need to source the front mech, running triple 8 speed and rather confused by all the shimano numbering? Any recommendations? I'm trying to keep to the upper end of quality to keep in with the rest of the kit. Cheers.
