I think back components provide a nice contrast against titanium. Especially with M900 XTR stuff that is a lot of very similarly coloured components. i went with black stem, cranks and seat post on my 96 King Kahuna and I am quite happy with the way it looks.

the brazing is beautiful, I love a good paint job on a bike but man would i be tempted to just clear coat that. Very similar serial number to one I just sold to a buddy in Vancouver

Zooming in on the tubing decal the best I can see if CROMOLY in large in the middle and maybe BUTTED in smaller font underneath, but that is a stretch

It is definitely his paint job. I know all the people who have owned it since it was in that shop. No pics etc but I have been told that cobra symbol is his hallmark when painting frames.

It is amazing what a single stem can do. I'm almost positive this is a tahoma sonne in the exact dimensions that is on the bike in the above photos (silver). Its a rocky mountain labelled and I got it cor pretty cheap around here. Looks way better in my opinion.

Funny enough I have a silver cap sitting from the set on my King kahuna. The stem is black so I'm running a black cap. Not sure I would want to give it up though

I think that might just be one of those narrow focus features on a phone camera, it starts doing weird things with thin objects like spokes or around handlebars, it doesn't know what is the bike and what is behind

The 96 KK is not easy to find as you likely know, only the rear triangle is different tubing (6-4 Ti) at least, visually, its not really any different looking than the other Hei Heis, just the seat stay decal. The next year they moved to the ovalized tubing and gussets
