Dynamo help please - touring bike project

Some experience or advice required please! I'm just about finished with a project to restore/renew a 1989 British Eagle Touristique for light touring (And Lejog next year). Really happy with how the bike has come out - it is silent and responsive but obviously no lightweight - a neat trick it...

British Eagle Touristique low rider rack attachments.

Re: Hi. Funnily enough I was looking at this myself for the same reason - I think in the end there are two types of Blackburn low-rider? The sexier looking one (custom?) that needs two mid fork bosses and the plainer (non custom?) version which only needs one and would fit the Touristique...

    British Eagle touristique

Apologies for resurrecting this thread but I'm in the process of stripping down an old unloved one of these bikes for a restoration and looking for a bit of help? I rode it around a few times before starting to strip it down and it really felt lovely - smooth and solid but somehow still quite...

    My first restoration complete!

Cheers guys. The flat on the rear isnt horrendously bad but no good to ride - not really sure how to go about fixing it though - the rim sidewalls seem ok (not buckled) but the rim is probably 3-4 mm out of round at the low spot. I've backed all the spokes off but the rim is definitely...

So here is a link to some before and after images : https://www.btcloud.bt.com/?shareObject ... 5846e9e83b It is a 1977 Raleigh Team...

    Mavic module E rim

I have been looking around for a mavic module E 36h 700c rim to replace a damaged rear (its taken a hit which flatted it at some point in its life so can't see how to true it up) and complete the pair for a restoration project. Had success here on the forum before so thought I'd put the...

Wolber SL19 tyre - or alternatives?

I have one NOS Wolber SL19 'COTON' tyre and am really hoping to find a second tyre to have a pair. Has anybody got a tip on where to look, does anybody have one they might sell - or are there more commonly available period correct vintage alternatives I could look for as an almost new/nos pair...

Re: Cheers guys - that tip off about Gipiemme especially might be just the trick - thank you.

    Alternative Front Mech?

After looking for a bit I've failed to find a Simplex SJA 103 front mech - which is for a triple. It is a part missing from my 1980/81 Peugeot. Are there any period correct alternative mechs I could look for, preferably Simplex? Or, Is it possible to use a double front mech instead, given that...
