    I would not thread lock it The hex bolt head is made of a lightweight (soft) alloy Very likely you would round the bugger off Plenty of over tightened maxles (all brands) have had to be replaced on bikes that I’ve seen come through our workshop

    Avoid any with avid juicy or elixir brakes, they need bleeding every year or so to keep them from pumping up with air in the system, I have bled loads of them in our workshop & some have come back multiple times before being swapped out for shimano brakes
