Thanks. I've raised the bars a little with a modern 'limp d*ck' stem (from ergotec) to sit a little more comfy in the drops and put a 25mm ofset to the seatpost to correct for the steeper angles on the seattube. Rides a charm now. balanced, direct, quiet and most of all its fun/carelessness...

all is true what they say about hope's being good. I'd prefer them over boutique hubs for their ability to remain unperturbed by natures mud and dirt. I'd like myself a stiffer rim than the alpha 340 or Iron cross (even though im a lightweight) for it's robustness and even superior...
