    Is it possible to remove the part with spring (image 2) to get it cleaned ? It seems lock solid and won't come off and how can I re-install onto frame if it won't free up?

    I set it that height for test fit I wouldn't be riding at that height, but thanks for heads up. Unless I get a longer seat tube.

Find and purchase a 1998 Marin Nail Tail a younger sister for my reaquired 1990 Marin Bear Valley.( Sold it 2 year ago, bought back 4 months ago, same £ much worse condition) They now are considerably younger sisters to my 64cm Canyon Roadlite AF .     Spotted this in a local FB post from a house clearance business. 19" frame. Few scrapes and some decals gone, but initial strip down is very promising. Forks look like they've never been off as original grease still present.
