    Orbit Romany - Columbus Nivacrom

A bit late to this thread but I am considering a 2nd hand Orbit like this in large which seems pretty ideal for a tough steel diamond-frame 26" tourer and I am wondering what would be the maximum tyre size front and back that could be fitted. The usage I am planning is a mixture of tarmac...

Hi Gil, I don't suppose you still have one of the 2 Salsa Enabler forks that you were advertising back in 2016?

Looking for 90s steel frame that will take wide tyres

I mean that a touring bike normally has extra fittings for mudguards both at the dropouts and bridges on chainstay and seatstay

Looking for 90s steel frame that will take wide tyres

Thanks I'll start looking at On-Ones, I see there are quite a few on eBay etc. I am after a 26" wheel so I guess that is the 456 model? They seem to have fittings for racks but not mudguards, and a variety of options for V-brakes or disks.

Looking for 90s steel frame that will take wide tyres

18"-20" seat tube usually feels about right, I'm 6' with more of my length in my back. Planning straight bars.

Looking for 90s steel frame that will take wide tyres

Hi all I'm wondering if the knowledgeable people here may know which brand/model I should focus on if I'm looking for a 90s steel MTB which takes wider than usual tyres. Ideally 2.6" but realistically at least 2.35" front and back. I want to build an 26" wheel, CroMo, derailleur (3x9), V-brake...

Looking for 90s steel frame that will take wide tyres

Size something like 18"-20". Would like to use 2.25" or possibly even up to 2.5" tyres but I know there are not many 90s MTBs that will handle that. Need rack (and preferably mudguard) fittings too. Lighter than average and nice tubing would both be nice! Obviously serious rust or cracks not...

    1992 Rocky Mountain Hammer - £200

Re: Hi What size frame is it? Top tube and seat post length would be ideal. Also, what are the widest tyres that you think it will take front and back? Thx

Nice to see the options coming in, thanks guys. Pictures welcome as well as frame size, measurement of chainstay length and estimates of maximum tyre width. For legrandefromage I've got to be honest and say that 16" is too short for me in terms of carrying on the rear pannier so I'm going to...

Thanks for the offer! Can I ask a few things about it please so that I don't waste your time. - how long are the chainstays? - what size is the frame? - what do you estimate would be the biggest tyres that it could take (with/without mudguards)?

~20" 80s-90s steel MTB frame, or + forks, or whole bike

******* Wanted ********** 85-95 steel MTB frame (or + forks, or possibly whole bike?) to convert into on-road/off-road/adventure tourer. Probably a 20" frame as I'm 6' tall. Would like: - as many braze-ons and fixings as possible to avoid an expensive trip to the frame guru if I can - strong...
