92 dog collar and 91 were the black plastic ones that sort of mirrored the previous noodle built into the frame, but they weren't great. On my original 92 fire mountain owned new, it fairly quickly snapped, so I got a 93 one from the local dealer to replace, I suspect that happened to a few others.

Looking on a computer rather than phone now, I see what you mean about the tapering on the other tubes. Downtube and toptube tapered similar to my 95 Explosif with Columbus Max, but clearly not that late with the rack mounts - still seems to be a 1992 style, also with classic Kona missing cable...

Didn’t Kona measure slightly differently in the early days, not C-T (I’m as guilty as everyone on this) with the measurements. So a 17 C-T maybe say a 16/18 depending on whether it was top or bottom of BB to T. This doesn’t then explain the measurements already quoted though. If it is a Kona...

I think a measured 1” quill stem (25.4mm) is for a 1 1/8” fork, the difference is the fork thickness as the stem goes inside. On an impact headset it has 25.4mm on top indicating stem size versus the headset size.

Keep the hope, I used to have Hope X2 from around 2010 and now have 2017 SLX 2 pot and 2021 SLX 4 pot. Hope had the best feel of all and we’re more powerful than the 2 pot. The 4 pot SLX are great but only necessary over the X2 for big steep Welsh trails.
