    Any Marin experts out there?

Thank you! And I agree, I love all three of mine. Weirdly my East Peak is the lightest :/ (12.3) probably down to tyres? I have a 2000 Rock Springs with 1x10 Zee and X Vert dual stanchion shocks. A 2000 Wolf Ridge mish-mash which isn’t quite ready to run yet, needs a headset. A 95% original...

    Inappropriate brand/model names

Kona sold “scratch and sniff” and “Lumpy Gravy”front and rear tyres… and Onza attempted something similar the not so hilariously named “Dan and Dave” front and rear pairings

Is anyone else as sad as me?

Really good geometry and they feel rapid, apparently because of the “afterburner” stays (something to do with stiff chain stays, apparently).

Is anyone else as sad as me?

Suspiciously similar names but not so close as to face legal action. They also did an arctic fox and Fat Track. Much of it was 18 speed or 21 speed “SIS with “steel” tubing. Only the TOTR got Reynolds 500 butted

Is anyone else as sad as me?

Orange was the first British brand which sprung to mind when thinking of Marin. Not because of the place names but because of its following and I suppose the fact they were properly made in the UK.

Is anyone else as sad as me?

When I was around 15 I became quite attached to Marin bikes and lusted after one until buying a 93 Palisades Trail. The brochure, the bumf about race-bred, lightweight innovations and the American location really sold it to me. As well as my friends also having them at the time (a Eldridge Grade...

Picked up this lovely bargain Marin boinger - minor build thread

New tyres next I’m thinking and replace the cracked Alivio shifters with some others from the parts bin. Edit: although they work flawlessly
