Man, I was a bit worried about the radio silence, glad it was "just" normal life.

Well I´m certainly no expert like Jack, but going from the steel stem I posted ealier, the mitering on this quill (round-ish) does look different. I also don´t know if there were Cook stems with the cable routing through the stem. I certainly haven´t seen one like this before.

I remember taking the toe straps off after one nasty fall while practicing. 20 meters- sounds about right, with a particularly wide and blocky rear tire, after the 73rd try 😣

Very nice bike, frames in this colour really aged well I think. How do you like the Mars tires? They look like they could fit my riding profile ("gravel"), but I find it hard to justify the outlay.

Ah, forgot about the brakes 😴. Ok 8sp also have nice shifters and they work a bit better than the previous 7sp. Plus they don´t have the problem of cracking plastic housings. You can of course also use the road shifters with thumbie adapters. Surely the $$$ option, but man do they look sexy:

Waugh, I mean whoa! Pure class with the minty Ritcheys. Only the shifters to sort then I presume? I can´t really see it exactly, is it 7 or 8 speed?

Ah now there´s the skinny fork with the single eyelet! Should have known about the Kicker naming, as I recently had the discussion with a friend about Kicker vs Fat Chance. Any pointers on the differences between them? We came to the conclusion it´s the same bike, first named Kicker and later...

Hi Rob, very nice frame this! Serial no and cable routing indicate it´s from 1985. Are the dropouts stamped "Suntour"? Not sure if the fork is original, I´d expect double eyelets in these years and it looks a bit spindly. Model name would be just "Fat Chance". Most components except shifters...

Please try the refinishing on a less visible surface first. The frame looks to be glass bead blasted, which was an option for the Litespeed frames and is nigh on impossible to replicate by hand. From what I know this finish also had the effect of making the frame less susceptible for cracking...

I´d strongly advise against OG Campy cables if you want to ride the bike. If there ever was an opportunity for a wet noodle joke, this is it!

Bikes with history- more precious than NOS everything in my opinion. Great idea with the small interview also, a very fitting tribute. Can´t wait to see it brought back to life!

Team white Turbo here also☺️. Dare I say it also looked far more distiguished with the skinwall tires? Gave me strong mid 80´s Cinelli Laser vibes.

I see, bit expensive then? Although NOS parts are always difficult to price.
