This guy takes no hostages-M900 NOS/NIB craze

I would almost agree, but hubs are also missing. Glad that I´m riding my bikes, this hobby would otherwise be much more expensive.

Suntour XC Pro Hubs…am I getting into trouble here?

I mean a lot of my "normal" (non retro) riding buddies think of my old bikes that they´re all unridable. From that perspective it´s all just different levels of awful  And for the price it´s worth a shot, as I said I didn´t find them to be that bad.

Suntour XC Pro Hubs…am I getting into trouble here?

Unfortunately not, they have a reputation for being quite grabby in their operation with little distinction when they will bite. Although the pair I had (rear wheel) was feeling normal. I guess it also depends on factors like rims, brake shoes etc

Would this bent piece of steel be of any use (not mine)?

Orange Bikes to go in to administration!

I managed to do a tour on a Stage 6 this summer (bike of a friend). And though it was a bit too small for me (size M) it was a brillant ride on a hugely capable bike. After that I was convinced my next modern bike would be an Orange Stage Evo to replace my SC Superlight. Just the right mixture...

    Mystery and Unidentified Parts

Ok found this in my own pics. Different nuts, but the black levers in the ad look like yours? Edit: Joglo was a faster feather!

    Mystery and Unidentified Parts

Yeah I also found this old thread, but he doesn´t directly say that it´s Fast Feather. Just that´s what he sold on ebay. I only know them with these levers: Last post over there is interesting however. I always thought I had a reading disability, but there is a difference between Fat/Fast...

    Mystery and Unidentified Parts

Old bookmark doesn´t work for me either, so I guess it´s gone? The nuts of the first pair look like Fast Feather, but don´t know if they also made versions with this lever.

    Tyre Recommendations

What brocklanders said. If you´re after period looks, the Panaracers are the way to go. All others have either giant logos, too large of a skinwall or the cross section is to round. Depending on the year of the Attitude (boxcrown fork) Smoke/Smoke would be even more anorak as the Dart came out...

    The anti Klein brigade.

What a lame fanboi, getting airborn just to keep the tires clean.

    Stem shims and school maths

How would that work? Even half of a 22.2 - 31.8 shim will not fit into the 25,4mm clamp of the stem. It still has 31.8mm diameter. And even if it would fit, it does not magically wrap around the handlebar, so it would not make contact all around. Or was this a purely mathematical question if...

    Vintage Crankset Restoration Quandary

Yeah I know the mechanic principles, but has that actually ever happened? Also: Loctite is yor friend. That being said: If there is no concern regarding profit and he can get the work done properly, there is no reason not to rethread them, is there?

    Vintage Crankset Restoration Quandary

There will be some deduction pricewise, no matter what you do. The question is if you´ll get the machine shop costs back if you sell them rethreaded. That´s a difficult question, as there are simply not many examples. Personally I wouldn´t bother to Helicoil them. With symmetrical pedals (for...

    Lovely Santana Moda

I sent him a message already, but more in a "good luck with the sale" kind of manner. I need another bike like I need another wife. I like them all, but love the one(s) I have.

    Lovely Santana Moda

Oof. Right size, right colour, fair price (notwithstanding shipping/customs etc.) That is seriously testing my restraint.

    Rim about to crack?

Look like (deep) scratches to me. Cracks look much thinner and more "scraggly" IMO. I´d still remove the tire and check the inside.
