    Joe Waugh Peach

Thanks- they function really well too- in fact it has the lowest friction retro BB and crank combination I've experienced, plus the friction levers are superior to Campagnolo in regards holding their position (no ghost changes).

    Joe Waugh Peach

Bargain! I'm very impressed with Joe Waugh bikes too. Dave Yates is a fine frame builder! This is my Joe Waugh R753 in its original Holdsworth Orange -original receipt specified the colour, and built with a full Mavic SSC groupset (incl headset, BB, handlebars, stem, pedals), everything major...

These are two a penny these days

Yes, everyone now seems to have a barbecue and astro-turf lawn these days ;)

What is the best groupset over the past 25 years (1998-2023) in your opinion?

Carbon was lighter, not that it matters that much at my age now! Take your choice ref derailleurs, ergo levers and chainsets. Only silver alloy Centaur brake calipers were offered (the Pinarello Banesto features Record Titanium),

What is the best groupset over the past 25 years (1998-2023) in your opinion?

For me, Shimano 7800 and Campagnolo Centaur 10 x 2 Speed which had the multi gear down shift sweep (c 2010?). Choice of silver alloy and carbon components like cranks/mechs/and ergos so you could mix and match for the retro look- I have it on 3 steel bikes and no issues as regular rides. Later...

When your B. Carre bike is the "G.O.A.T"

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Bernard-carre-bicycle-/325600796266?&_trksid=p2056016.m2518.l4276 Well at least 'Goatsmilk123' didn't describe it as a "Barn Find"

    50's Rotrax

Looks brown to my eyes vs the other very red shots: not the lighting, more a low quality camera being used.

    50's Rotrax

Appears to offer a colour flip from red to brown!

    Frejus 60s Resto

Wow! Hard to believe it's the same bike frame: great colour choices and painter has done a fine job.

Super Leggera Specialissima. but not a Bianchi

I now believe that Mario Peloso ('Mario di Alessandria') possibly built some of the 50s/60s Sedazzari bike frames. Confusingly, the later Sedazzari Specialissima models were built by another frame builder sharing the same first name, "Mario" and referred to by locals as 'Mario di Staglieno'-an...

What's your favourite road tyre of all time?

My personal favourites for clincher amber walls- current Michelin Power Cup 25mm are super fast and comfortable, Veloflex Corsa EVO 25mm, and white wall/tread- Michelin Power Endurance and Vredestein Fortezza Tricomp. Veloflex/Clement for tubulars.

    The ones that got away.....

Thanks, it was lot of fun researching it and then building the blog/website.

    The ones that got away.....

I'm still holding on to my two 753 bikes as everyone regrets selling a 753! a Brian Rourke Moducel Team bike that was ridden by Sid Barras, and a Joe Waugh in Holdsworth Orange with full Mavic SSC groupset.

    The ones that got away.....

Thanks for the offer, that frame is really a one-off, nobody has ever contacted me with another like it. However, I'm under pressure to release one or two more from my own collection as my interests have migrated to the 50s and 60s (in line with my age!).

    Columbus MAX or Reynolds...?

I owned an EL-OS frame which was elliptical in profile where the down tube meets the bottom bracket and at the junction of top and seat tubes (Stephen Roche branded likely built by either BioRacer of Belgium or Carrera (Podium) of Italy). It certainly wasn't MAX like in regards tube size/...
