When I tested some tightening, at one point it just stopped the hub altogether. Unless is there a chance the cone could not be truly centred and it's being tightened off centre? Meaning it's biting against the top of the bearings. I'll have to do some extra fiddling tomorrow and make a record...

It was, tried to make sure it was seated as far down as it previously was too. I might take a video of the difference in noise from horizontal to vertical tomorrow.

The wheel fits the dropouts, and appears to be central, but the cone position does seem to make the axle thread available at either end uneven (less thread to work with on freewheel side). The 5 speed freewheel does cover the lock nut but not by much at all. I was wondering if I could shift...

If someone has a 24 tooth freewheel they could measure to compare against the 22 tooth freewheel @vcballbat measured previously that would be handy.

A little update managed to get the front tyre on and gave the brooks saddle a little bit of a clean, need to buff it up with some beeswax or something :)

I like the cat for scale too 😜 this is some truly imaginative and impressive measurement technique 🙂

My best attempt to get a photo of the measurement, not sure if I fully got the right bit or not, but if I did it looks to be close to 60mm max.
