Nice! Totally agree on the high bottom bracket being a bit of a feature on these frames. I found going above around 465mm axle to crown length started to tip this into being a slight negative trait for the riding I commonly do, but they are awesome for seated pedaling over rough terrain...

I have some on my Marin, and love them! Great for out of the saddle climbing, and for getting lower and further forward on the bars, resulting in a more hinged hip angle which in turn gives better recruitment of leg muscles. For a mile munching cross country bike, I'd say give them a go...

You're never planning 20+ miles on the GT? Respect if so!!! Be interested to hear how you get on at the track. IMO you can't really beat a 20" BMX on the track itself (as long as your back can handle it lol), but a small frame 26" bike is a lot more versatile. Bonus points for pics/vids!

Do it!!! They are amazing fun, and I reckon a lot of the skills translate well to trail riding too. Have you got some good ones around you then? The recent crop of velo solutions ones around the UK all seem to be excellent. That's a lovely GT btw. I mean, it makes my back hurt just looking at...

Made my first ever edit from today's ride too... Terrible riding but I've overcompensated with rock music over the top so it's all good :D

The bike definitely deserves a better rider than me, but it'll have to get used to low-altitude belly flops now! It's very forgiving on terrible landings and feels reassuringly solid. Didn't have to tweak a single bolt on the ride either. Reckon it's going to be a fun little bike :D

Looking forward to putting in a bit more time on this bike to see if I get used to it and it "clicks". I'm already happy enough with it that I'm going to swap over my nice pump track tyres (Halo twin rail) from my 26" BMX onto the Saracen. If the fork had external rebound adjustment I think...

I did have a few runs down the jump line too. With the slightly unfamiliar feel to the bike I squashed the heck out of every single one, but it's still a fun track to mess around on :)

I then went onto my other local track, which has slightly bigger features and a little jump line. I don't tend to ride this one as much due to the hills you have to climb to get there (which aren't really that bad, they just SUCK on that 26" BMX), but it's another very good track. Not quite so...

Just got back from the first proper test ride on the Saracen :D First off I took it to my local skate park. I'm not really good enough to make use of the quarters, let alone the spines, here... but it felt really good cruising around the bowls, and having a squish fork is sooo much nicer on...
