I've been thinking quite a lot about whether there's anything I'd like to change on this bike, mainly because I've not been able to get out as much and fancy a bit of a winter project. However, today's ride reminded me that it's already pretty much perfect for wheels-on-the-ground bridleway...

After having my ass thoroughly kicked by Covid recently, it was nice to get out for a gentle spin on the trust MtV today. It's a bit sad having to take it slow'n'easy though, this bike wants to go fast!

Yeah, I think that's a small. They do come up long for their frame size though, the medium Mount Vision I have definitely feels more like a large.

@Lacuna agreed, a nice fork & shock makes these bikes incredibly capable. I personally think they ride really nicely with either a coil or an air shock.

I really rate this era of single pivot Marin FRS. I've got one built up as a XC mile muncher and love it. A friend has one with Shivers and a fancy shock and it is ridiculously good on trail centre stuff. The only marmite thing about them is the rather high BB, which for me is noticeable...

No probs! The quad link 2 platform is really nice, good pedaling performance and stays active while on the rear brake. They look dead cool too 😎

I've got a 2010 quad link Marin - they're great bikes. I've had the same issue on mine, re torque-ing the pivot bolts fixed it for me. From memory I think the lower shock mount tends to be most prone to working loose (maybe the rotation about this pivot is greater), but I just re torque all...
