REW Reynolds Ladies need help with rebuild componentry

Re: I think the rear mech has probably been switched for one that could cope with the massive granny gear on the back. If you decide to swap it your replacement might struggle with such a big sprocket.

    1980s Raleigh ace?

Re: Yep, it's lovely. A rub with wd40 and some cotten bartape fitted and it'll be stunning. From the catalogues (google will bring them up) It's circa 1971 although the wheels are 80s with alloy rims - originals would've been steel rimmed.

    1980s Raleigh ace?

Re: 1980 seems about right. It looks fairly original comparing it to this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RALEIGH-ACE-C ... SwstxVLh4W If you decide to buy it be aware that this was very much a low-end model - now worth about £50 at the most. But if it you like it, it runs ok and it fits you -...

Rare 50's Clifton Cycles Lightweight. £135 ONO W. Sussex

Nice 60cm frame with quality lugs. Looks to have been re-sprayed by Argos (not quite the right colour IMHO - looks a bit mid 80s). Has the original single Stronglight/TA? crank and Primo stem. Can't gather much else from the photos but looks a total bargain to me. The seller (not me) states...

Deeply curious - Help needed to identify a frame.

Re: I saw this on eBay too and kept going back to it because i just couldn't work it out. My best guess was that it was maybe a built for a local bike shop by someone like Holdsworth in the early 70s? And got a Raleigh respray in the mid-80s to look cool. Do the forks seem original?

Touring Bike Challenge: Vintage Peugeot Racer

Re: Brick lane bikes do some nice shiney alloy mudguards which wouldn't look out of place. I have some on my winter commute bike (also French and made with Vitus 172) and the keep you dry and look fast! ..Providing you get a saddle with loops - a nelson longflap carradice saddle bag might...

Early '50s Hercules Aston Club restoration

Re: thanks for the compliments! It's now pretty much finished - I just need to sand some of the deeper scratches out of the seat post. I went with black tape in the end - the brown was too pale - and finished them off with cork as the diameter of the bars was too small for the velox bar ends...

    22" 50's / early 60s ? Ellis Briggs in West Yorks. **SOLD **

Ah! Thanks for coming clean. I'm glad that it's gone to a good home and not been parted out and sold on. Ellis Briggs look to have done a nice job with the paint - much better than the orange. You'll have to start build thread to document it's progress.

'50s(?) Claud Butler Ladies Lightweight. Chester

Currently £40 and no interest. If it is 50's - the paintwork is in great condition. A few 70's and 80's parts but zooming in close reveals clipped headset, curved brake bridge, Airlite hubs (?), nice fork crown and rear fork ends, brooks saddle... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Claud-Butler- ...

Early '50s Hercules Aston Club restoration

Happy to report that I’ve finally got the Aston Club down from the top of my mother-inlaw's cupboard and into my cramped cellar :D . Whilst it was still in Glasgow I gave the frame a fairly good clean, removed the chain, chain-ring, wheels, handlebars before somehow managing to squeeze it into...
