Got a new bike, Orbit Harrier. Borderline classic...?

The seller just got back to me and says "it has a standard wheels, and nice Campagnolo rims too" So it should be fine.

Haha, I think that's a different Harrier! Also, boot? What does it mean in this context?

OK, I asked the seller to confirm. I am not saying it would be a deal breaker but yes, it would actually be.

Got a new bike, Orbit Harrier. Borderline classic...?

I need to get myself one of those bottle holders! I notice that when I search for Orbit Harrier, only models with canti brakes come up while mine has calipers. What year is yours? I wrote borderline classic because I am not sure how old it is. I would say late 90s but might be quite a bit...

Got a new bike, Orbit Harrier. Borderline classic...?

After a bit of searching, I got myself a new bike. I just made the purchase, haven't received yet, but very exciting. I was looking for a bike with - steel frame - steel forks - mudguard eyelets - rack mounts - 130mm spacing and vertical dropouts And this checks all the boxes. I mean, it's not...

Cinelli Gazzetta della Strada - Italian or English thread?

I see. Do British brands have stereotypes? When I think of a British brand I think of Dawes. Solid, functional, quality bikes. Genesis. New-age British? Whatever that means

Cinelli Gazzetta della Strada - Italian or English thread?

Do you mean cool with a slight derogatory take? As in a bit overpriced and flashy? Because I do find that their Croix de Fer definitely has a hipster aura to it. And I do find their bikes very expensive for what they are. However, there are not many steel road bikes to choose from...

Cinelli Gazzetta della Strada - Italian or English thread?

Really? You think the Gazzetta is superior to the Equilibrium in style? Not a loaded question. Genuinely curious:) The Cinelli does have that "retro" look about it. It's nice. But the Genesis is also very sleek. Different style, I guess

Cinelli Gazzetta della Strada - Italian or English thread?

haha, I know what you mean about Surly  I see. Seems a good bike, yes, but from what I read and from what you say, other than having a steel fork, I am not sure I see an advantage compared to a Genesis Equilibrium. And yes, the new Equilibrium come with a steel fork, but the second-hand...

Cinelli Gazzetta della Strada - Italian or English thread?

I honestly thought it was a vintage bike from the eBay ad. Then looked into it and understood it's modern. Seems such a strange hotchpotch of parts. What did you think of them? They are nice with all the eyelets, bosses, and mounting points. But I'd guess the Cinelli name drives the price up...
