MTB rider started in 1997 when I bought a Kona Koa from Butler Cycles in Portsmouth.
Since then have owned a Specialized M4 FSR bought from Phil Corley in Milton Keynes in 2001.
Those bikes had lots of racing use.
In 2004 I purchased a Kona Kula primo frame from Aire Valley Cycles in Keighley. I was relocating to the North and had seen the Kula.
I raced the Kula (briefly - 2 laps!!) at the NPS in Thetford. I thought I was fit, turned out I wasn't, the bike was.
In 2006 I bought my first and only Specialized S-works. It was an FSR and to replace my M4 that was stolen en route to that years Mountain Mayhem (/it might have been SITS).
I rode the Kula Primo and the S-works LOTS.
Today, fast forward 16 years and the stable is different:

The Kula and S-works are now frame only on my wall.

We have a 1999 Kona Explosif.

My beloved Kona Koa was stolen but I found a larger replacement, simply to admire as it's too big for me. Evokes fond memories of learning to MTB in Hampshire in the 90s.
