    Show me your single speeds!

Only the third 88 FM I've seen in this colour. and I looked for ages after buying mine. Also has the curved Project 2 fork (by Spinner). I reckon the super long head tubes make them ideal for drop bar conversions too

Unearthed a box in the garage with a Suntour self energising rear U brake in black, so Suntour XC Pro back on again. Also found the necessary 31.8 f/mech which sealed the deal. Not sure whether to still go 7 speed XT hyperglide wheels though. Just to get some decent shifting

Mine is still at the powder coaters getting the fork and stays painted. Will keep the slightly scruffy main frame original. Easy enough to do another time. 99% set on six speed M730 XT. Probably Araya RM20s in grey anodised. New BB bearings to go in, probably XT headset. Can't wait. It wasn't...

I was thinking of getting it shortened because it's a nice stem. Shipping from New Zealand could be pricey too. Quality 1" stuff hard to come be here. I have an IRD stem but that's 150mm...

Nice work getting that rack to fit. I have a mint XCD groupset which I'm saving for a 1990 Cinder Cone, and a scruffy XCD groupset that I probably won't use on mine. Will probably go six speed M730 XT, which would be period correct, plus I have an XT U-Brake. My only Suntour suitable one would...

This is as I bought it. 170mm c-c stem!

I'm just starting a build of the same frameset - originally grey with black fork and stays, with a 1" headset. However mine has had the U-brake studs moved to the seat stays, and a cable stop bridge welded on too. To help the rear derailleur cable avoid the tyre it has had a cable guide welded...

where in NZ is Carmen SanDiago ?

Thought I should add myself too and then found myself six posts up the thread from six years ago? It's a slow burner. Have since added a Yo Eddy, a Merlin, some Konas including one of the earliest known Hots (bought in Nelson), a Breezer, some Stumpjumpers, a Ritchey, a Bontrager, a Turner, a...

1993/94 Fastback Single Speed - Scott Pro Racing?

I think I have an answer, and I've been thrown off course all this time by the MT93 serial number. Mine is a 1994 Scott Pro Racing. These had the same Ritcheyesque seat cluster, same cable guides, same dropouts etc. Plus there is a guy selling a 1994 Scott Team Racing (with different seat...

1993/94 Fastback Single Speed - Scott Pro Racing?

All of the pictures I can find of Ritchey tubed Jamis bikes have a cable stop as part of the seat clamp. They also have an eyelet on the dropout, and different shaped seat cluster lugs. Can't remember where the serial number MT***** thing came from

By the way those forks are stunning on the build

1993/94 Fastback Single Speed - Scott Pro Racing?

That's a pretty respectable weight for some fairly weighty wheels. You might be putting too much emphasis on the weight of the chainring though :). That's all the motivation I really don't need to start yet another project... I've got some lightweight bits hanging around - never actually done a...

1993/94 Fastback Single Speed - Scott Pro Racing?

That wouldn't weigh much? Never thought about a super light build for mine - could be an option
