I bought 4 dirt cheap chopping boards (something like 1mm thick plastic) and made my own. think it cost me 2 quid for 4 chopping boards that made 8 ass savers. that was pre covid, still got one of them on a bike, the others are sat in a draw somewhere having not been used.

is it a piece on the modern day cycling industry and being "tied" to the major manufacturers by large chain shops, the lack of brakes speaking to the run away nature of it all and the BMX saddle indicating that it could be a wild ride? I think this is a large part of it, but also AERO, 1 fat...

you killed it, you should be ashamed of yourself, everyone knows that the black elastomer is a night creature, not able to withstand daylight, it lives in the shadows, known locally as the night walker. Now blue elastomers, they'll live for ever outside, in fact they don't really like the dark...

I seem to remember there being a law in Japan about wheel sizes, expecially around mountain bikes.

There's a wiper seal, so boots aren't a must. But they do stop dust getting in.
