Before my DOGSBOLX I had a White Spider and that suffered a chronic chain suck incident while riding in the Mendips. The chain virtually carved all the way through the chain stay. After that experience I decided to fit a chain suck device on the DOGSBOLX. 🙂
Hi,
you can search my name for a few posts about my DOGSBOLX which incidently I collected the frame from Chas Roberts cycles 30 years ago yesterday! Here are some photos to be getting on with.
Here’s one bodge I made for the Dogsbolx. A chain suck device made from a cut down Ringle original. I had bolt mounts fitted to the chain stay when the Bike frame was made. I also cut down chain side plates stacked onto the mounting bolts to act as guides for the derailleur cable to line up with...
Thank you for your offer I will be interested in seeing what your tube measurements are. I think your tube set listed is exactly what I have got and was commonly used in the early 1990s. I know Roberts would mix and match tube sets despite my build sheet just saying MAX. I have the Ritchey BB...
Hi,
I know this is a bit of a nerdy question. I am trying to confirm which Columbus MAX tube set I have on my 1994 Roberts DOGSBOLX. The original Roberts build sheet quotes MAX and I think it may be MAX OR. I have looked everywhere on line and I cannot find any Columbus MAX OR tube dimensions...

Check the upper reinforcement sleeve on the seat tube. If the rear has a scollop cut into it creating two points then the frame was built by Winston Vaz. It was a unique signature he built into all his frames.
Today I plucked up the courage to bake my heavily bloomed tyres which I bought on ebay 4 years ago in the fan assisted oven. I followed the instructions that have been posted here online and everything worked perfectly.

I have two bolts originally from my M900 shifters. I replaced them with titanium bolts when I bought them in 1994. I never throw things away!
Both are rust free and even have the original thread locking compound on them. I don’t have the original split washers which you will need as they also...
