Clockwork top tube dent advice needed!

Frame blocks and filler would be a good learning experience, but I’d vote for not worrying about it: powdercoat is a bit thicker than paint so will fill it a bit, and unless your daughter is determined to have a pristine bike, a small characterful ding will be part of the story. (Or could be...

    Raleigh Randonneur 708 1997

Every road side should have one covering its whole length, with a moving hand rail, oh and a canopy - in fact each cycle should be placed in a conveyance, with four wheel and a roof …. and as that could be a bit heavy, the conveyance should have an engine and airbags. Common sense really …..

Is that monster furniture really so cyclists have something to hold on to at the lights?!

Just seen a great cycling weekly article scan in @Guinessisgoodforyou ’s The British Bike Thread (page 67) which I’ll cross post here for reference: 708 tubing details from the Nov 30 1989 edition:

    The Health and Nutrition Thread

Interesting: my experience is that it’s all goes swimmingly until you run out/forget/mistime the next burst. Gels are just weird, wrong and badly packaged; carb supplements in water can smooth things out but still feel unnatural. I’m tempted to carry a bag of jelly tots for emergencies, but...

    The Health and Nutrition Thread

One of the things I’ve struggled with in cycling (long rides not everyday transport) is getting the fuelling right. After a couple of audax rides, I figured out I need a burst of fuel every half hour or so. Trouble is, in day to day life I’m trying to cut down/phase out carbs. Now in theory, a...

Callisto - home made path gravel tourer thing

They’re 35mm gravelkings, widest I could fit. They’re pretty good all round: cushy on rough c roads, and grabby enough for graveling.

Callisto - home made path gravel tourer thing

Lovely morning, so went to my local trail centre (Dalby Forest) for a ride. Wanted to do some of the fast fire trails, so naturally, rocked my gravel weapon/tool/whip/rig 😄 I’ve added mudguards and flipped the bars. Glad to say it was really comfortable and sure footed, and was even up for...

JIS. Complete bargain. (Needs quite a long (wide?) bb spindle) I’ll take it if originsoundd doesn’t.

That’s coming on nicely. For cleaning socket heads, I find clamping a piece of rolled up wet and dry (abrasive) paper into a drill or dremmel allows you to get them clean: follow up with a cotton bud and thin oil. Hours of entertainment for little outlay 😄
