Hit me with any ideas as I’m totally open to most things. I’ve ruled out trying to replicate stars/bars or Rasta purely as it would annoy me if it wasn’t perfect.
The issue with Kona is they did such a vast array of colours so it’s hard to make it different. I actually like its current colour...
For me on a Kil I’d go single colour
My Hot is a 96 but was repainted in 98 so has 98 decals.
I’m leaning towards a candy red with 96 decals in silver or gold.

Wet paint from a bike painter in that scheme you say will be best part of £500.

I’ve spent this morning creating ‘sections’ for each bike brand and arranging them to hang in date/ model order.
Just the Kona korner left to sort another day but there’s no rush as only 1 is a complete bike with rest as frames.
I would still not describe it as immaculate unfortunately. You might get away with calling it “average”.
In the the world of retro bikes it’s not uncommon to see bikes that literally can pass as new regardless of age so when someone describes it as immaculate we kinda expect it to be.
£150 is about right as above. You need the right person for it though.
Its definitely going to need work and unfortunately will never be super minty as not much you can do with the frame.
A really nice one sold last year for £400. But it was immaculate.
Might be worth asking Joe at Joes bikes in Worksop. Not entirely sure what he’s got stashed away as there is a lot but he’s a Marin FRS fan so you never know
