    Complete Dawes 1993 & 1994 Catalogues

@easy_rider Thanks for posting these excellent scans. I am trying to create a resource for 'vintage' Dawes bicycles. Started 2 years ago as a fun project to put a year to my pre-1960s Dawes bicycles. Would you allow me to put a copy of your scans on my website and FB page? It would be much...

    Identify a Dawes?

Was it this one? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Dawe ... SwdUVa-MOX It's the only one I can find  Ta

    Identify a Dawes?

Would you be so kind to share the link? I can't seem to find it on the bay :( I had these exact lugs on a '56 Double Blue. At the introduction of the Double Blue in '55 they are described as 'special design ornamental lugs'. A '55/'56 Debonair I used to own had the same lugs. And a mate of mine...

    Identify a Dawes?

@mules Did you get any further with this? I am trying to decipher Dawes serials, yours is quite interesting as the serial is located on the seat lug (till roughly 1956) and the lugs point to mid 50s as well... An L-serial would point to 1950 though, so I am a bit confused and wondered if you...

    Sheffield Langsett - appreciation thread

Cheers m8, that's very helpful - I have contacted Neil about my find last summer, and although he replied he hasn't given me any extra info yet. He also let me know he wasn't the ME anymore (I am not even sure if he is still a member of the VCC). Ta, Rogier

    Sheffield Langsett - appreciation thread

I acquired this wreck last summer - mainly bought it because of the Allez chain set and pedals. Unfortunately the Allez parts were write-offs, but the frame felt pretty light and had good components. Some scrubbing was needed :) After some careful scraping remnants were found of the head and...

    '51 Rudge

Just looking at the transfer on the down tube I would say it is a Pathfinder as well. That's also the model that didn't feature the 'Red hand of Ulster' in the cranks. No way to tell if it was made for US, UK, or Continental market... Sometimes you can tell on which side the lamp bracket is...

    22inch GT Karakoram Inferno - £90

I instantly liked this one, but have to make room and decided to stick to my 1986 Dawes Nomad - so up for sale Very nice and mostly original 22inch steel GT Karakoram Inferno paint job, in decent nick Comes with the original stem, GT branded bars, Araya CV-7 rims on Deore LX hubs, LX...

Phillips fleur de lys reynolds 531 Photos

Was probably overpriced - that kind of money almost bought you a handbuilt machine from one of the smaller builders. For comparison a Raleigh Lenton Grand Prix 10-speed cost 25 guineas

An Ernie Clements, could it be?

Hi Neal, A picture of the head lugs and fork crown would help. I assume you looked here already... http://veterancycleclublibrary.org.uk/l ... brary).pdf The fork ends are definitely a match, some frames in the catalogue show the same kind of box lining as well as yours. And the chainset...

I've got myself a bike, can someone help identify it!

It looks a lot like a Falcon Black Diamond. I built up a ladies version of this last year as single speed. Same paint, decals, etc... It had Black Diamond transfers on the chain stays. Turned out to be a good and responsive ride, no special tubing tho. KR, Rogier

    When aerodynamics was new...

Thanks for clearing that up, Griff. No regrets selling it? @nob who built that frame (evert??) and those cranks  Ta, Rogier

    RatroRacer Mercian

Hi Steve, Good to hear you still have it and ride her regularly! I agree with everything you say - I like patina as well, so definitely not in the market for a respray. I don't have the funds and as you said it isn't a top of the line model ;) I think I am going to keep the Mafac Racer brakes...
