Bit late to the thread. the forks are worth £350 don't sell them you will regret it.
The frame is worth about the same.
The race lite is indeed far superior to the race.
A suspension corrected frame by definition was made to run the longer fork
So I doubt that there were longer rigid forks avl as at the time as there was a general stamped to suspension . So a longer 1 inch threadless fork period correct probably doesn't exist.

I would consider running the headset threaded or unthreaded depending on what fork you can get. As the fork is the tough ask and the headset is an easy source and swap.
