Old BMX were meant to be heavy, they were built hard for a reason.

stuff like the gyro can be replaced for dirt cheap.
everything else, dip it in
Trust me im being conservative in funds on this one. Thanks for the links I did think about the dia compe as the brakes are all dia compe but I didnt like the name branding. I managed to get the SM one type for £9.00
Only problem is will it fit? 20250422_092449.webp

So I started on the rear wheel and its not in bad shape.
Had to cut the inner tube due to the Alu valve cap galavnised itself onto the valve :(
The Hub is a decent one Mutiny Black Ball, they have been known to make strong hubs that last and the bearings ran true after all these years.

The story goes, I did some research when the GT released their generic rear hub, there were issues was the spokes would worked themselves loose against the hub on hard landings. It was a known problem discussed over BMX museum.
So this previous owner had swapped out the generic rear hub for the Mutiny one.
The spokes are black painted, which TBF protected it from rust all these years.

Moving onto the front wheel original Hub GT in good nick but with silver spokes rusted, I have a packet of 40 black vocal ones laying around with black nipples just shy of 8 more anyone got any spare? :)
The rear cleaned up well Front needs re-spoking for sure. But also rim is in good order.
The Rims are Alex wheels and a good quality known brand for that area.
Rear is Alex supra J pro Tyres 20x1.95 Maxxis Good condition
Front is Alex Rims MX22’s Tyres Snafu 20x1.95 1”crease split surface.
