Well, I decided to pulled the trigger on this Raleigh M-Trax Duotech 500 on Wednesday, after keeping an eye on it for a few weeks.

It was on Facebook marketplace, locally, and was £50, which wasnt too bad considering it originality.

Needs a good going though, but is all genuine standard fit equipment, including the titanium Bull Horns.

More as and when its cleaned up, and I have deceided what route to go with it.

The winter projects are stacking up nicely now, with this, 2 x Raleigh Ravine, Raleigh Peak, Raleigh Apex, & a Raleigh Summit!

I'm not sure aside from sparkly nail varnish how you can deal with the chips as the paint is base colour coat + multi coloured flake coat, on my MT4 I used a KustomKanz paint described as silver holographic flake over a black base coat, unfortunately if they do still sell silver holographic flake its not labeled as that product anymore in a rattle can, the other issue is getting a level of flake applied to match existing paint work, I ended up replacing all the black bits on the MT4...

I also have a duotech 400 lurking around which has paint issues uses the same flake as the 500's but is over a black base, the lacquer is shot on the top tube & the forks also could do with some love, my current plan for this pretty much clean up as much as possible, selectively apply some black sparkly nail varnish and then pop some 2k lacquer over the top...

Maybe some god of bike paint repairs will see this thread and help us out lol :)

I'll be interested to see what you do with yours :)

yep, I'm thinking of taking the forks over to Avon in bristol and see what they say, if I want it mint, I think its gonna be a full respray and loose the hologram, which I don't want to do, my third option is to fit a pair of yellow Judy's, as that was the factory option at the time, either way its gonna cost money. my 4 the option, when I replace the front graphics on the forks, for them down the flanks, instead of the front. lol I was thinking of searching eBay for some glitter to find the right size flake and mix my own laquer. she`s a lovely bike and to good for a winter hack or give to a spotty teenager to abuse and destroy.

by the cost of a resprayingi think it will be a close match on nail varnish, laquer over and buff. then put stickers down the sides.... how ever, I've got a mint mt4 and mt3 Mtrax in purple silver, I might just go down to the bling path, rockshox with zoom head and big fat tyres
