It's the other extreme but I find bikes like these vastly more characterful than another tacky gold plated Colnago wall hanger that will never be ridden.

100% agree with you on that. My neighbour has a Neil Orrell tourer which has that classic mish-mash of parts you often get on a well-used bike - it’s not pretty but it has a charm of its own exactly because it’s well-used.

Bought this for £175 and refurbed it, runs like a Rolex, btw have a great winter bike and top end summer bike, but love love love riding this

This one I spy near my work quite a bit, definitely a quality frame with some history. Spinacis still going strong too!
