‘95 Dagger FS build thread

Dirt Disciple
Hey first build thread post. I have what was sold to me as a ‘95 Dagger fs frame although I believe it could be anything up to ‘97. Very little online on Daggers that I’ve found outside of the 97 review from mba.
This is also my first Amp of any variety so I’m stoked. of all the Amp b3s the Dagger is my favorite. I haven’t gotten to the overhaul of the dampeners the front f2 shock I procured is in great (looking) condition but very slow to react up or down so dampener and bushings the likely culprit. It’s a red spring so I expected stiff and quick return but nope.
Anyway this will be a slow thread as I’m currently moving and should really tone it back after a few builds this year but hey I’ll post a few before polish and after scoring some decals from Gil
Any info on identifying the year on daggers or tips with amp dampeners are greatly appreciated!
Also consideration on parts anyone may have available here’s the few I’ll be stressing lol:
Kooka cnc/critical racing stem 1 1/8 130 0 rise silver
Kooka/real/altek canti levers

The amp dampers are easy to self service I've done a few, but it helps I have some tools I guess. Looks nice, good luck with the build.

Recent acquisitions. Mavic 217 that was rough but dirt cheap with fine braking surface scrubbed down nice w fresh decals. Hard to find 32 hole lately I’m not opposed to finding a complete rear or front wheel to complete. Thinking white industries but not certain yet. Srt 800 up front nos. Sachs Quarz front derailleur I’ve got on hand I’ll be looking for a nice Quarz rear. Going with Ritchey clays as of now 👀 I just scored this one in reasonable condition. Big contrast to the bike obv but I think it’ll work with all the shiney aluminum :) thinking real levers I just scored the larger I mean older set in faded red anodized I’m going to strip em when they arrive and shine them up. I’m not sure that’s the set I’m going with I like the look of the newer Reals w option for canti/v but they were cheap so I may resell and cop the newer set. Looking for silver seat posts that could work I don’t see anything on the market. Kooka in silver (26.8) would be the best fit imo I can’t really think of anything else with the shine I’m going for. They’re ghosts but I guess I’ll thump around for one when I’m actually ready to pull the trigger

Pretty wild I posted the frame on Amp Research fb page and found the original owner who provided me with some pics of him shreddin it up, build sheet which is nice he skimped a lil on the drive train but understandable I mean come on I’m pretty sure the frame retailed at $1200 back then.
Cool to hear from the guy and get history on the bike.

Lots of de-ano going on found some silvery parts that I supposed were anodized when I purchased, of course they were and that won’t really work on a bike that’s half polished. The DGK brake booster was quite the hassle. Unfortunately it did not come with the hardware which makes it pretty much a normal brake booster if I can’t find replacement. White Industry hubs. USE seatpost which wasn’t to bad bringing to polish. Decal is on the way for that. Won’t match anything but hey lol. Repop saddle is just a temp. A pretty temp though. Polished end caps I had lying around I think is a nice touch.
