What was that someone on here?

no sadly, it was one of the retro facebook groups. Its some guy in the US who after a bit of digging on my part has clearly had his account hacked. I just spoke with his boss and it's clearly not the guy doing the posting. I'm gutted cos it was the first £500+ purchase from my Dad's money trying to see what I could raise and it the first time I've been scammed. so now I'm 2 weeks in and -$700 already. Not a great start!

Can’t you call your bank and they may refund you

no sadly, I have a broker for my international payments, and they don't get involved. So I'm going straight to the scammers bank and dealing with their Senior Compliance Investigative Analyst now. I'm not letting it go ;)

Good luck
well it took a turn over night, I'm now dealing with the FBI. It wasn't a simple case of someone not delivering a paid for bike... its a lot bigger!

Watch out people, there is a firm of scammers now targeting the retrobike scene, and they know what they are doing.

Wow, that has escalated!

I guess if it’s too good to be true, it probably is.

it wasn't a super deal, just a good deal and the guy had ALL the chat. We talked bikes for 2 days before I sent anything.
Am surprised they feel the retrobike world would would be worthwhile to scam, still I guess it’s money at the end of the day, and desperate people will look for any avenue.

It wasn’t a yeti for £500 was it
