No… that’s not what I said.

EBay ending price doesn’t mean sale price.

1) the buyer might not pay. It’s happens a lot.

2) the winning bidder might be my mate, and he’s not been out bid so we would cancel the sale.

3) I could have sold it last week for x, but not wanted to end the auction cos it’s an admin nightmare.

Actually I let it run and it’s ended at that, but no one’s paid yet, so it’s not sold. Yet


And if I’d had a price I wanted, I wouldn’t have put it on auction. I like eBay cos the market generally decides the price.

Just checked and it’s gone to a US buyer so my money is on him not paying once he works out the import costs…. But we will see.

If it doesn’t sell it certainly won’t be my choice. It went for more than I needed to cover my costs so I’m ok with the price.

I very nearly bid in the dying moments, but was actually put off by it being a package of wheels and tyres (the front wheel and tyres I’d have no use for, and could really do without accumulating more than I *need*).

I didn’t have a mate bidding on it!!! I’m just giving you examples of when an eBay auction end price, doesn’t mean the sale price.

Just an update, the guy paid... and covered the shipping costs. So in this case the sale price was the sold price.

he's happy, I'm happy and all is well in the world.

Despite the fact that I've just been conned out of some $$ by some US scammer who pretended he had something I wanted, and has now disappeared! Stay wise out there people, I was too trusting. First time in 30 years of buying and selling bike bits its happened. I'm gutted.
