Help Identifying Frame: Columbus Aelle (Acciaio CMn) tubes c1990

Retro Newbie
Hi. This is my first post. I have acquired an old bike that I am trying to identify.

See the photos for details. It has Columbus stamped on front fork eyelets and rear drop outs. Columbus Aelle stickers on the seat tube and forks.

And a sticker with some kind of serial number on the front.

The bottom bracket has a frame number stamped on the underside of it. J2704 [Edited: After stripping the paint back, the J is actually a G.] The number, as best I can tell is G2074.

It came with Shimano parts:
Exage 300 EX front and rear derailleur;
Exage 500 EX crankset, Biopace chainwheels
7 speed cassette, on Shimano hub
Light Action SIS 7 Speed down tube levers
BR 1050 brakes with SLR quick release levers
105 Headset

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

After stripping the paint back on the bottom bracket shell, the first letter is more like a G than a J.

So the number is G2074.

Anyone recognise that style of serial number?

Also, the blue paintjob is a repaint. Original colour was predominately white.

Cheers

Paul

Looking at the top of the seat post stays, they are beveled. The shape and highest point at which they are brazed on to the seat post look just like a some of the Japanese built Columbus frames that were found on Schwinn models in the 1980-1990 era..

I'm in Australia, so not sure if this is a Schwinn or not, but it is close.
