A few of the 100km riders. L to R, Ed 'Stryker' Edwards, James W, John and the Mysterious Birdman Sunday 11th April saw several brave retrobikers take on yet another (26th from memory) edition of the Hell of the North Cotswolds (HONC). The numbers were split evenly between the 50 km route and the 100 km route. Following a week of good weather the trails had dried nicely and the going was good to firm. Everyone got round more or less trouble free (Daj and Birdman excepted). Click here for full aftermath.

The first Mountain Bike Club Reunion will be held on 10th & 11th July in Kent. The MBC was active from 1986 to 1990, running the national championship series, a mix of rides and races. Starting with six members it grew to more than 2,000 before the two founders, Jeremy Torr and Max Glaskin, realised they needed to earn livings. While all retrobikes will be welcomed, the main aim is to get the retrobikers together again so they can compare their varying degrees of memory loss. For the Facebook page devoted to the Mountain Bike Club Reunion click here, for forum discussion and more details when we have them click here.
Morvélo is proud to announce that one of the most talked about events of last year, the Brighton Big Dog, is on for Saturday 14th August 2010 and online entries are now open here! Noted for it's great atmosphere and cracking course, this years event will not only offer more of the same, but now with added chunks. More singletrack, more partying, more categories, more close racing, more laid back fun, more of the type of event that sold out in it's first year. This 6 hour race around the ancient parkland trails of Stanmer Park featuring testing climbs and awesome singletrack, guarantees a whole lot of fun! This is still a non-profit race. A hefty chunk of the profits will go behind the bar for the big party in Brighton afterwards...

..of Paul Componenet Engineering (nice parts since 1989) fame. 1 ) Retrobike: What's going on at the mo at Paul Comp? How's business? PP: Business is very good. We're buying new machines and expanding the building to meet worldwide demand. 2 ) RB: What do you guys get asked for most these days? Hubs? Brakes? Small plastic horses? (Love those product shoots.) PP: The Chain Keeper has been a huge success, and we have several new mounting styles in the works. The market for brakes and levers is still very good too. The Racer after a few years is finally getting some momentum. 3 ) RB: I know you are just stoked to be in the shop and working away at a project, but do you still find the time to ride enough? PP: I ride almost every day...
