The Peaks Meet 10th Sept 2011 Aftermath – with support from Bikefood
Another year, another excellent Peaks meet. For 2011 the meet was part of the Retrobike 2011 National Events series and was kindly supported by Bikefood. Once again the meet proved to be one of the most well attended of the season with over fifty riders out - all bar two on old school machinery. Ride organiser, lumberjack and ice road trucker Drystonepaul has an official ride report up which can be found here and here. The full Retrobike Peaks Ride aftermath thread can be found here
The Retrobike Rides Monthly Newsletter - September 2011
So August draws to a close after a superb month of riding. The weather perhaps hasn’t been ideal for most of use but the local and national RetroBike rides scene has been in full flow. The national series crossed the border into Scotland for a memorable ride around Drumlanrig. The hospitality was amasing and with the Tunnocks weighing heavy we took on the slippery roots and rocks with smiles from ear to ear. A full aftermath more pictures than you shake a stick at, can be found here. September is as always a Peaks month. On Saturday September 10th we will once more be tackling the stunning Peak District, starting out from Hope. Full details can found here. As always RetroRides are free to attend, leisurely paced and great banter is...

Kleinspainted
There are fewer things more iconic in the world of retrobike than Klein factory paint - from Dolomite to Nightstorm the work of the skilled painters almost overshadows the undoubted technical innovation of the framesets themselves. Forum member Jonrock has been honing his skill repainting Kleins for several years now, he stands heads and shoulders above others as being the only real option for a factory look refinish. Jon has taken his hobby to the next step and started a website with full details of the services he offers, check it out here > http://www.kleinspainted.com and don't forget to tell 'em retrobike sent you!
Aftermath from the MacRetro Drumlanrig ride – with support from Bikefood
Sunday saw Retrobike take on Drumlanrig, Scotland with support from Bikefood in the fourth round of the National Event Series. Twenty five riders from all over the UK took on the excellent Drumlanrig trails on a smorgasbord of retro machinery - rocks, roots, drops, plasticine clay and all. The ride was ably led and organised by the MacRetro lads and included more Tunnocks tea cakes than those from south of the border had ever seen. Click here for the Retrobike Drumlanrig aftermath thread, possibly the biggest event to hit the Dumfries area since Chipmunk played.

British MTB Series Round 4 Race Report, Margam Park - 26th June 2011
For anyone who rode at the Mountain Mayhem, last Sundays (26th June) British MTB Series race at Margam Park saw familiar conditions. Wet, cold…hot, dry. We arrived on the Saturday with the intention of pre-riding, but day long drizzle washed away all enthusiasm. Sunday saw the temperature rise from 18 to over 30 degs – hot, hot, hot! I went for a bit of a pedal around the course – a combination of hard climbs, muddy chutes and generally pretty tough. Add the sudden heatwave into the mix and it looked set to be pretty damn hard work. Think Mayhem on steroids. In an oven. Or a woollen suit. Or a bear outfit if you’re that way inclined. The Elite race showed just how hard with riders coming past in ones and twos, big gaps in between and...
