Ideally I'd like 80mm of travel and approx '97 era

Is either fork available with 80mm, maybe a later version?

OR, can a Z2 be extended or a Z1 reduced easily enough?

I would plan the service/overhaul the fork - are parts likely to be needed and are they available?... if so where?

Cheers

Not sure about 97, but 98-99
Z1 was 100mm
Z1 Dual was 100mm
Z1 drop off was 130 convertible to 100mm
Z1 bam was 130mm convertible to 100mm

Z2 super fly was 70mm
Z2 light was 70mm
Z2 bam was 70mm
Z2's has a 5mm negative, so effectively I think actual travel was 65mm*
*Or was it the other way round  and 75mm. I forget how that went.

Parts
There is an Italian forum/thread/website that deals exclusively in the early Z series, but I've not hear of them for 10 years or thereabouts.
Al you can do is gogle and keep googling. Or see if you can pick up odds and sods and duff forks off ebay.

@kraeMit enter!

The 97 z2 was 65mm travel. Like above if you don’t mind looking at a few years later and you’ll get that lovely chunky marzocchi fork and no faffing with travel adjustment.

I'm reading it straight out of the 1999 Marzocchi Bomber catalog 21 pages. Covers Z1,2,3,4,5. Mr.T,Jr.T,Monster triple, and rear shocks Boss VR.50,Boss C35,Boss C40 and Boss C50.

The Z2's state 70mm travel with 5mm negative.
The catalog is in English and German.(English first)

Im just looking up the Z2 bam owners manual, which covered the Z2 Bam, Z2 Atom bomb, Z2 light and Z2 alloy. States total 75mm, which will be the 70mm plus the 5mm negative.
Other measurements stated are
Crown to axle - 432.5mm
Stanchion dia - 30mm
fork leg distance between centers 130mm
Cantilever boss distance between centers -80mm
Slider bushing length - 92mm
Fork leg oil type -EBH16 -SAE7.5
Right leg - 75cc
Left leg - 85cc

So I have a little side question (I hate to thread hijack but people on this thread might actually know the answer). I have this Z3.5 that I can't find much info on. The bolt that attaches the lower to the upper on the left leg has snapped. (I bought it this way) is there a way to fix this?
