For sale: an unfinished Yeti FRO(?) project in freshly powder coated turquoise with a one-ride only set of Control Tech Lawwill Leader 3 forks, Control Tech stem, NOS aheadset, Tioga Revolver crankset (has missing crankbolts and chainrings) and bottom bracket, a front mech roller - and that's it! Nothing else in the photos is in the package.
Due to the rack mounts we are not sure if it is a full-on FRO but pretty sure it's not a Yak - I believe FTW has seen pictures of the frame and suggests it may be a special order of some sort.
I'm informed:
1 1/4 headtube = post 89.
Welded cable stops (not riveted) = pre 93.
Removable seat collar (subsequently revised by previous owner) - pre 94
One-piece rear triangle. They weren't doing that post Durango apparently.
The top tube measures 590mm centre-to-centre - so pretty big.
I have had the frame since 2007 and started to build it a few times but lost interest! The previous owner had the seat collar revised, other than that I believe it is original. I had it stripped and a small corrosion hole repaired then powder coated grey. I then changed my mind on colour (!) and decided to go YETI blue, so stripped and painted a second time. I have never actually fully built the bike up! There is some small particles trapped within the frame that have always been there (which can be heard when you turn the frame upside down) - maybe metal from the seat collar work, I don't know. Whatever, it's been stored dry and safe for 10 years now without issue and looks pristine.
The Lawwill forks were NOS when acquired and I did one single dry lap of Mountain Mayhem on them (when affixed to a HARO Ti). I doubt there is a better condition Lawwill available in the UK (and so much safer than a first or second gen for actual riding... ;-) ). All linkages super tight.
