Y22 Carbon

I love these. I’ve got a blue Y33 from the first year. Considering how expensive they were new and how far ahead of the game, they are surprisingly cheap.

I really liked them when they first surfaced - even though at the time, let alone now, I knew they were.. well.. a bit crap in operation.

Trek got the aesthetics spot on, imho - that is a teenage daydream of what an exotic carbon bike should look like, mid-90s.

Still holds the same sway today. If only I had space - and it was a gen 1 Y22 in that deep burgundy..

Exactly, a 1st gen red one or a Y-5-0 was my dream bike when it came out, but now? Meh.

Well.. I wouldn’t prioritise one.. but as all our precious old bikes ride crap versus a box fresh carbon 29er.. if I ever have more storage space it’s on my.. I guess.. 3rd string list. Right now I only have space for 1st stream - meaning lots of fun stuff passes me by. I have to rely on the rest of you guys to pick it up, restore it, treasure it.. then.. maybe in a couple of years get bored with it and sell it.. to me.

So, basically someone pls buy this Y22 and store it carefully. Thanks
