Wanted XT fd-m736 or Campy top pull 29.5 I think

After getting some wrong info I now need a front mech for my build with a larger band.
I don’t know the sizes these came in but need something close 29.5 I think.
Must be nice condition and too pull.

28.6 or 31.8? (There's also 34.9)
28.6 is the narrow steel standard, so if you have a derailleur clamp that's too small you've probably got a 31.8 seat tube o.d.

Thanks. 28.6 is defo too small, as I just bought one off here and it doesn’t fit in at all, unless it’s small than was advertised.
FWIW the replacement seat tube is 27.2 internal.
measuring circumference and working out diameter from that I get about 29.5, so I guess it’s a 31.8 I need. Can’t be 34.9 surely.

It's an alloy frame I imagine

if the post is 27.2 - most steel seat tubes 27.2 id are 28.6 od - unless the tube is tapered.

Alloy needs thicker sidewalls, hence a larger clamp diameter for same post size

Thanks for that. It’s a Max OR frame, just had a new seat tube put in. Turns out the issue is with the tube and not the clamp!
