Hey all,
I've picked up a little Bianchi Grizzly project bike which I'm looking to turn into a very Grant Peter-esque trail/touring slayer.
Think Landrover Defender chic, with a big chunky front rack, double head lights, fat tyres, swept bars. It's going to be a very self aware, post modern shred sled.
The project is also a great excuse to put some stuff that's been lying in boxes to good use. I would like to do the same of your guff!
In particular I am after;
- Nitto Dirt-Drop style stem (http://www.rivbike.com/product-p/st4.htm), ie a very high rise, short reach stem. In an ideal world I'd go for a set of Bosco's, but something like this plus some North Road bars will be the place to start
- A Shimano dynamo hub. Must be QR, ideally 32h, ideally 3W. They're not terribly expensive new, so this is just on the off chance!
- Any old Flite, ideally without a cut out. As long as it's structurally sound, I'm happy to have it. I've restored a few now with sexy suede and quite enjoy the process, so any old crap will do!
- U brake. As long as it's not coated in plastic and it works, I'll take it. Something posh would be nice, but it's hidden...
I'm very particular about my front racks, but if you have a completely over the top, massively overbuilt rack with an integrated top shelf that's just kicking about, I'm listening. The more excessive, the better. Think Nitto big front rack; http://www.rivbike.com/product-p/r5.htm
Have a dig about, see what you find! Some images for inspiration;
Cheers guys
