Wrong time to sell?

It will depend on who has the buy box from Amazon , who is FBA and who has more items sold. It can change hourly as most customers don’t go further than the first page.

Trust me I sell around 200 items a day on Amazon.

They are waiting for their bikes to become rarities or antiques, so they put a high price :D I've never understood why they have to put a high price on something that won't be bought. But at the same time, I've seen people buy the same product at a higher price on Amazon.

Hi all.
I admit for some rare (not bicycle*) stuff I list it on ebay/amazon for stupid prices - not because I want to get rid of it, but more on the basis that everything has a value to me - and for a stupid price I will sell it regardless of how much I like it. Back when DVD collecting was a thing, I sold a few 20 quid ones for around 200 quid because they were rare and someone was clearly keener on buying them than I was on keeping them. Everyone went away happy.

If I had the time, I'd be happy to list all of my worldly possessions on that basis: Don't need or want to sell, but if you are that keen/desperate I will sell it for this stupid price.

*The only reason I rarely list any bike stuff is that I can't be arsed.

Covid really showed how herd like humans are. I was genuinely astonished at how quickly bikes sold during lockdown. Owning one wasn't compulsory to get the one hour of exercise, but suddenly lots of people (including my neighbours) got the impression it was.

I've not seen the Peloton delivery van since lockdown?.. t'was a daily occurance around our neck of the woods, you could set your watch by it.. for similar money you could have just gorged on junkfood and beer for two years then paid for lipo.. plus all those £30k camper vans cluttering up the verges and all the £600 coffee machines collecting dust.

I've pulled all my retro stuff from eBay, didn't have many items listed to be fair, but they weren't shifting. Figured I'll spend the winter assessing what needs to go and make a proper sales effort again in the spring.
I still plan to list the odd thing on here however as I have a few duplicates/parts I can't see myself using, and don't necessarily want to wait for eBays 80% off fees promotions.
However with Christmas just around the corner I should imagine many will be limiting their spending for a couple of months either side.

Yeah, spending priorities change over christmas time.

I just leave mine as the promotion on my selling account is pretty constant at the moment, it does vary from person to person though, a friend still gets the £1 max fee offer.
