Just been thinking - having just struggled with a Time carbon ATAC rebuild wheteher having one forum for workshop issues would be useful. (And not that long ago an XTR v brake)

This would be particularly useful if 'fixes' are posted, and titles changed to item description "fixed".

Ruminate fiercely.

Think this was floated before. IIRC there was mention of a wiki with the most helpful posts. Polishing, powderocat type things

Park Tools website is probably one of the best referances when looking for help with repairs.

I also think it would be a good idea and the Park site is very useful with lots of reference material.

As mentioned I do use Park and also Sheldon Brown; but recently both sites haven't been able to help. Due to the vast range and quantity of kit that folk use I wouldn't expect either site to be complete. hence the suggestion

If you need an extra mod to help out - I'd happily help

I know there are current mechanics on here as well as ex mechanics like myself.i'd be happy to share anything i've learnt over the years ;)

I've asked about this before...

There is a FAQ section of this site, we just need to get people to fish out the tech tips they have written and get them organised in some way

yeah I think it needs debating to get shape but I'd say by category EG Frame / Brakes / Finshing / Gears...

I think they should be normal topics, IE not locked so other RBers can add to or criticise the info...

Sheldon is no longer with us so it needs to be done! the content on the Park site is great but it is not all encompassing and you can't talk to it and ask it stuff

This would be VERY VERY good for RB

A wiki could be even better but more of a pain to implement I should imagine but that's John's bag...

Some good ideas here, have to think it over and decide how best to proceed.

Sounds like a good idea. I recieved some great help this morning with a headset issue that was very quickly answered and resolved.

Storing that info for more to see (rather than ending up 10 pages back in a couple of days) would be great.
