Wookiee's 95 Nickel Orange P7 finished Page 4 ridden Page 6!

Re: And so it begins...1995 Nickel Orange P7 99% finished pa

Looks lovely and clean, but let's see some clearer photo's please.

Sticking with everything black on my P7, thought about the amber wall tyres but might stick with standard. Still got my Pace RC36 forks left, so want to get another Orange now. Black and black on silver looks like this . . . Hope to have finished this weekend.

Took it out on a mini shakedown ride today...really liking the ride position feels nice and comfy, good on my back and wrists! The forks seem to be performing well, possibly a bit soft, but maybe I just need to get used to the feel of them having only ever experienced modern forks. Stuck an LX rear brake on so I could stop safely, as I am waiting to get the XT rear brake sorted. Biggest issue was the chain slipping in the middle ring at the front, so have some new rings on their way to me so that should sort that out.

Also took apart the wheel hubs and cleaned and re-greased the bearings. The front hub is a "system 2" and had an 18mm cone nut size which was a bit of a pain as my cone spanners went as large as 16mm, but got there in the end! Now running nice and smoothly and I've trued them up too.

Overall everything is running really smoothly...new cables all round meaning the brakes felt nice and positive and the gear changes felt swift and precise. Happy with the whole package so far and just need that XT rear brake and the middle ring to get sorted and I think it will be spot on. I have Thursday off work so hope to get some better pics sorted then too. But safe to say that the frame is spotless and the seatpost, stem and bars have been polished to a mirror finish! Along with the mechs and spokes etc too...

Very shiney!

Yes, she's a thing of beauty. Nice job. Now take her out on the trails at the weekend and christen her with some mud.

Those who know me, know I ride my bikes  and this one is no exception, and hope to race it at Mayhem this summer...
